History:
I've known Violet since the day she was born. She came into my life shortly after I lost my beautiful, young gelding in a tragic accident. Feeling then like a horrible and undeserving horse owner, I had sworn off bringing any more horses into my life. It was just me and my old pony for the duration. And then Violet was born at the barn where I was boarding. I walked by the stall where she was with her Dam, and she poked her tiny sweet muzzle straight up in the air at me. I encircled it with both hands and she claimed me as her own. I tried to ignore it for several weeks, but at 3 months of age, Violets AR Blue officially became mine. I really didn't know much about her pedigree at the time, as it really had no bearing on her purchase, but after I recieved her papers, I was pleasantly surprised and impressed by her inherent quality, besides her natural sweetness.

Violet is by the western pleasure champion Rlink to Blue, who is by NV Shalako,a halter champion representing the hugely successful Bey Shah+/Gamaar niche. I met Rlink to Blue, owned by Nancy Knudson of Majestic Star Arabians. He seemed larger than life to me and enhanced my appreciation for Violet's champion pedigree. Her dam, Shah Colleen, is also by NV Shalako and so is also a grandaughter of Bey Shah. Violet's pedigree also includes the black stallion, Pistoleero, the incomparable Silver Drift, and traces to Raffles. Her pedigree includes several lines to Gammar, which you can see in her beautiful, soft, expressive eyes.

Violet can be strong-willed and snorty, puffing up to what seems twice her size when excited. She can put on a spectacular show, where just watching her takes my breath away, but she has never been unmanageable. She is the alpha mare, but she is also sensitive, kind and intelligent. She is just the type of mare I would entrust with my life and I'm very happy she came into mine.
